Behavioral Health Disaster Preparedness & Response for Ohio's Bhutanese and Somali Communities
OhioMHAS, in partnership with Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services (ETSS), Vedic Welfare Society of Columbus, and Forward Step Education, is hosting two free webinars addressing emergency response, disaster preparedness, and culturally tailored behavioral health response services for the Bhutanese and Somali communities in Ohio.
Hear directly from members of Ohio’s Bhutanese and Somali communities in this culturally centered training. This webinar is for county ADAMHS boards, behavioral health providers, county EMAs, first responders, volunteer disaster response organizations, local and county health departments, and organizations serving these underserved and historically excluded communities.

Switchboard’s mission is to provide comprehensive support and guidance to professionals and organizations involved in refugee resettlement. Switchboard is implemented by the International Rescue Committee (IRC).
The BSBB trainings infuse culture and diversity throughout foundational workshops on suicide prevention and mental health. Community members learn to act as eyes and ears for mental health and suicidal distress, and to connect individuals to help or support.
